OTOSCOPY
Visual inspection of the ear canal and eardrum is completed to check for wax blockages, obstructions, or signs of outer or middle ear infections in the ear.
DIAGNOSTIC HEARING EVALUATIONS
A diagnostic hearing evaluation is the first step in accurately determining the type, degree, configuration and symmetry of your hearing loss. The evaluation includes measurements to rule out any medically treatable causes of hearing loss. Speech testing in quiet and noisy situations is also completed to determine your ability to understand speech sounds. The audiologist will then explain your test results and speak with you to determine the best hearing aid style for your hearing loss and personal listening needs.

MIDDLE EAR EVALUATIONS
Tympanometry measures the mobility of the eardrum. The results of this testing can indicate whether a problem in the middle ear may be a contributing factor in your hearing loss.
Acoustic reflex measurements can add diagnostic information about middle ear function and hearing loss.

HEARING AID SELECTION AND FITTING
Your hearing aids are much more than a piece of plastic that house state-of-the-art technology. They’re an investment in your quality of life—in the ability to fully participate in your relationships, work and activities.
Today's hearing aids cover a wide range of designs and degrees of sophistication. Some models have manual volume controls. Others automatically adjust to new listening situations. But not every technological advance benefits every hearing loss. Think about what you value most in a hearing solution. Is it the latest technology? Is it comfort or ease of use? Working with you to determine your priorities and expectations, along with your hearing loss, and performance on the tests completed during your visit helps us select the hearing instruments that are best for you.
REAL-TIME HEARING INSTRUMENT MAPS
Real Ear Measurement uses state-of-the-art equipment to measure and display the actual response of the hearing instruments in your ears. This test verifies appropriate settings for a personalized fitting and is recommended by American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association as the best practices approach for verification of hearing instrument settings for audibility, comfort, and tolerance.

HEARING INSTRUMENT ADJUSTMENTS
If you’ve wondered if your hearing aid is listening the way it should for you, don’t wonder any longer. Our state-of-the-art equipment measures the sound you hear when your hearing instruments are IN your ears. You then watch while programming adjustments are made and verified.
HEARING INSTRUMENT CARE
Maintenance of hearing instruments keeps them in working order. At Ohio Hearing Health we provide regular maintenance check ups for hearing instruments utilizing equipment to free the components from debris, moisture, and residue that gradually weakens delicate working electronics of the hearing instruments. Manufacturer’s statistics show that the most common repairs are due to either a buildup of earwax, skin oils and other debris in the microphone and/or receiver or moisture. Providing regular maintenance checkups FREE of charge is one of the ways we help keep you hearing your best!

HEARING INSTRUMENT REPAIRS
In most cases, we are able to repair your hearing aid in-house while you wait. If your hearing aid requires more extensive repair we will send the hearing aid to the appropriate manufacturer for you.
